Engineered to filter out particulates from subsurface drainage the black polypropylene non-woven filter fabric is the perfect solution for drainage applications while still filtering out soil fines.

Some of the more common filter applications are French drains, pipe wrap, under athletic fields and volleyball courts, asphalt overlays, rip rap shorelines, erosion control for hillsides, and as a landscaping weed block. When used for French drains the fabric lines the trench and encases the drainage rock and drainpipe in a wrap to prevent dirt from entering the drainage system.

The nonwoven fabric has excellent permeability and breathability allowing water and air to pass through and restricting dirt and debris from clogging drains and spillways.

Woven geotextiles are made of slit film polypropylene materials. This material offers high strength and low absorption making it an excellent choice for crossing over wet areas or substandard soil. Non-woven fabrics are made of needle-punched polypropylene for great separation and filtration.

Non-woven geotextiles provide high absorption making it an excellent choice for construction projects. This product allows excellent absorption while allowing water to pass through while restricting dirt and debris from entering and clogging up the system

Outside of these two products, there are two other products that serve as ground stabilization, woven monofilament, and spun-bond geotextiles. Woven monofilament provides the strength of woven along with the absorption of non-woven products. Like other non-woven fabrics, Spun-bond fabrics integrate the fortitude of woven geotextiles along with the absorbency of non-woven products.

Woven Geotextiles

This product is normally used under driveways, streets, highways, and parking lots. It has been proven that woven geotextiles are very effective for spanning over wet, weaker, and unacceptable subgrades. The low absorption of the fabric offers long-lasting separation and stabilization.

When you choose woven geotextiles, you will have better performance, a reduction in maintenance costs, and the completed project will last longer.

Non-Woven Geotextiles

This product is the best choice for both separation and absorbency. It's typically used to wrap French drains along with other sub-surface solutions. Non-woven geotextiles are also used under rock riprap facing when separation and drainage are mandatory.

This product is used in specific applications when high strength and strong filtration are necessary. While standard woven geotextiles are used in the construction of impermeable slit tape, woven monofilaments are made of separate filaments woven together in a screen-like appearance.
