Root Barrier for Raspberries

Our raspberry root barrier is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a material prized for its waterproof and durable qualities, ensuring reliable root containment. This barrier resists punctures and tears while remaining flexible for easy installation. The Raspberry Root Barrier effectively prevents plants from spreading into areas where they’re not wanted. This resilient plastic barrier offers a long-term solution for controlling raspberry roots. Without proper management, raspberry plants can invade surrounding areas, but our 80 mil barrier keeps them in check for years, thanks to UV stabilization.

The typical application of this barrier:
Dig a trench 16-17 inches deep around the plants.
Measure, cut, and place the barrier in the trench so that 1-2 inches of the barrier are above grade. This prevents the roots from trying to sneak over.
Encircle the plastic so its standing next to itself, recommended 4 feet of overlap. 
Use double sided barrier tape in vertical and horizontal crosshatch strips to join the overlapping barrier onto itself.
Backfill the trench with the remaining dirt
